Study Jazz with Paloma Ximena
Are you ready to take your jazz playing to the next level? I offer focused, high-level saxophone instruction for aspiring professionals who are serious about their craft, their sound, and their future.
As a saxophonist with performance credits that include NYO Jazz in South Africa, Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis, and ensembles led by Rodney Whitaker and Walter Blanding, I bring real-world experience from both the bandstand and the practice room. I've studied under some of today’s leading jazz voices—Walter Blanding, Melissa Aldana, Jon Faddis, Ingrid Jensen—and I’m committed to passing on that legacy with the same intensity and integrity.
In lessons, we’ll go deep on:
Developing a personal voice rooted in the jazz tradition
Advanced improvisation and harmonic fluency
Tone, articulation, and phrasing refinement
Composition, arranging, and bandleading
Audition prep for college or professional opportunities
Whether you're preparing for conservatory, aiming for competitions, or stepping onto the professional scene, I’ll help you build the discipline, artistry, and confidence to succeed—and to create music that matters.
Let’s talk about your goals and how I can help you get there.
Lessons available online or in person (Lansing, MI area).
